Help & support

Updated October 7, 2026

Help for quiet mornings and the moments between. Contact support@taoftware.com. Include your device model, app version, and what happened. Please keep private dreams, voice files, passwords, and sign-in codes out of support messages.

Do I need an account?

No. Capture and read on your device without signing in. Plus cloud sync needs a Halfwake account.

Are recordings automatically backed up?

No. Voice backup starts off. With Plus, open Settings → Account & sync and explicitly enable private voice backup. Watch-to-phone transfer is a separate local-device feature.

What happens after Plus expires?

Your local journal stays available. Existing cloud backups remain readable and restorable; new premium cloud writes need Plus. Restore purchases from the Plus screen when changing devices.

Can I record on a watch without my phone?

Yes. Apple Watch and Wear OS save words and voice notes locally. Connect the companion later to transfer saved notes to your phone. Microphone permission is required for recording.

How do I connect my watch?

Use Settings → Halfwake on your wrist on the phone, and Settings / Connect phone on the watch. Keep the devices nearby with their normal Bluetooth/network connection enabled, then follow the prompts. Connection is optional.

Why is transcription unavailable?

On-device speech support depends on the device, installed language, and platform. Keep the original recording, or add words manually. Halfwake does not fall back to a cloud AI service.

How do I reduce motion or increase text size?

Open Settings for text size, motion, parallax, and sound controls. Apple Watch and Wear OS also use their system text preferences.

Can I export my journal?

JSON and CSV journal exports are free. Plus adds printable dream books, Atlas posters, and calendars. These exports do not automatically package your original voice files.

Is Halfwake available in the stores?

Halfwake is available for iPhone, Android, Apple Watch and Wear OS. Download it from the App Store or Google Play. The screenshot gallery shows the released iOS 1.0.1 update.
